How to play Vegas — the 2v2 golf betting game

4 players (2v2)

Vegas turns a 2v2 into a swing game where one hole can move real money. Each team combines its two scores into one number — low digit first, so a 4 and a 5 make 45 — and the difference between the two team numbers is the payout on the hole.

The rules

Both partners play their own ball. Pair the scores low-first: 4 & 5 = 45, 5 & 6 = 56. Lower team number wins the difference (45 v 56 pays 11 points), each point worth what you agreed on the tee.

The flip — where the game lives

A natural birdie by the other team FLIPS your number: highest digit first. Your comfortable 45 becomes a 54 because their player poured in a putt. Birdies on both sides cancel each other. And the classic house rule: if your partner blows up to a 10 or worse, your own number flips against you automatically.

It’s the flip that makes Vegas famous — a single birdie against a struggling team can swing 30+ points on one hole. Set your stake accordingly.

How Swilkin runs it

Swilkin pairs the numbers, applies the flips (and knows a natural birdie from a net one), and shows the hole-by-hole damage on the receipt — "Hole 7 — 45 v 54 (birdie flip!)". You just enter scores; the ledger does the crying for you.
